I only spent 4.75 hours at work, on the grounds that my trainee was doing the paperwork today, and I was still a little out of it post-wisdom tooth extraction.

I came home to explosions all over the internets. "Something bad happened and a lot of people go / bad themselves, that's how awful it is." Nothing that I can summarize in a tidy little package, just I hate being caught in the middle between two friends, especially when it's also work-related. Just because I don't get paid as such for helping out on LJ doesn't mean I don't consider it work. I ♥ you both very much and I will do my best to stay between you if necessary if it will make everything go more smoothly. (If it won't, I'll dive out of the way, duck and cover, and hope the internet won't explode.)

Anime Night followed, the new and improved version. There was some debate about where/when, et cetera; we wound up at

myrrhianna's with tasty frozen pizza, watching Princess Princess. The cats came out in full force, eventually. I got photos. Photos to be following sometime.

After I got it written up, I did get our regrets sent off to the former host of Anime Night. I'm the tactful one, so it didn't come out with a spiked cluebat. More on that later also.

Loonie tired, need sleep. Loonie need clean applesauce out of car, too, but Loonie need sleep more. Why is it that every time I feel like I'm going to be OK, I have days or portions of days that just require me to curl up and be petted? Also, I need to get laid. (Though that's probably unlikely given my insanely stringent standards.)

I'm sorry to hear that. It's always the worst when friends fight. I hope everything turns out OK, or as OK as it can.

It's less bad than it could be, because I'm sort of strolling casually into the middle going "oh hey guys" and realizing that it's been World War III for a while rather than watching the slow disintegration of a formerly good situation into a vile one when I'm able to do nothing about it.

That's true. It won't make it any easier for you, but not much could improve situations such as these.

Any of the issues contributing to the "very much need not to be near each other" are Not My Fault. But the "very much not near each other", that, I might be able to do something about.

From my perspective, it looks like two people who very much need to not be near each other being forced by social/work circumstances to be near each other. The only cure for that is some sort of buffer zone somehow, and under no circumstances letting them talk directly.

Yeah, and because stuff like that seems to be happening more and more, there is a little bit more awareness of how to handle it, but most still don't have a clue.

I had the Geek Social Fallacies drilled into me at an appropriate time in my life, so I'm not making the mistake of trying to apply the Transitive Property of Friendship.

If they'd been introduced to each other properly in the beginning, this might not have all happened. But they weren't, it did happen, there's too much history to even think about re-introducing them, and it's time for damage control. Major damage control.

Yeah. Too many times in my life, still to this day, I think about "If GIN had happened, we wouldn't be dealing with TONIC right now," or something of that nature, but the truth is that GIN didn't happen, but TONIC is right now... so dealing with it effectively, and hopefully quickly, is the major issue now.

The "if only"/"alas" cycle will kill ya.
