I have succeeded in making the set of circular transformative connections starting from cowboy and going around through the topics of the source material back to cowboy again.

The progression: Cowboy turned to husband. Husband turned to barfly. Barfly sold the Chevy. Chevy sold for baby. Baby grown to cowboy. Some people never learn; when will they ever learn.

Since they were hits together, and they taste of female desperation in the Barrayaran South, I will forever associate "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?" with "Sunny Came Home" and "Birmingham". There's a playlist somewhere in there. I'm too tired to think of the rest of it now, though.
