Friend of mine filled out a D&D character classification meme. For reasons that don't necessarily matter at this juncture, she mentioned a perspective on deity-driven magic that involves the deity as the force desiring to make the change in the physical world, and the deity's control over/connection to said deity's attached humans (followers, worshipers, whatever you care to call them) being the agent through which such change is made. The human wields the power; the deity wields the human. In combination with that cartoon I got linked to, this makes me wonder if a) there is a game out there where you play the deity who is trying to manipulate the humans to achieve the desired ends, and b) if there isn't, there should probably be one. (Unless there shouldn't.)


Yesterday I had one of those rough calls; I got off it in about 15 minutes while the guy typed in the validation URL manually. He calls back 10 minutes later and gets the guy right next to me. It takes 40 minutes for that guy; when he was done, I pitched him a bag of M&Ms from my stash, because OMG that call must have BIT.


Over the past several weeks, I have started seeing little bits of motion out of the corner of my eye, motion where there should be none; motion where there is none, when I look at it. No noise. Just motion. Quick, darting, dark rather than light. I hope I'm not going mad or having some sort of dangerous visual degradation. I do know I need new glasses, and these are sufficiently out of the corner of my eye that it's not in the area that my glasses cover.

Less Sims, and more "OK, I'm Nuitari, he're Solinari. I've got three followers, you've got three, and I see that mine are more devoted to me, but also more crazy. I cast Burning Bush at two of mine."
"OK, roll."
"I get a 4."
"OK, that was good enough so they noticed you, but your message didn't make it past the crazy. One of your followers jumps off a cliff, the other one starts a cult."

Ah. Maybe Populous, then - you got to use divine intervention and stuff like that. Or Dungeon keeper (though I never could get far in that game because I enjoyed slapping my creatures around and locking them into rooms where they would mope and grumble because they were locked up, unpaid, unfed, and slapped around.)

I occasionally have the same thing; it's a sign of stress. You might want to get your blood pressure checked.

Blood pressure would make sense, actually. I don't consider that I'm under particularly a lot of stress (I'm comparing to moments involving Shawn and/or BJ and/or Marx) right now, but I know my blood pressure has to have risen.

My eyes are so bad that when I see something like that it's... my hair. If it worries you, do get your eyes checked tho. Your eyes are probably better than mine, almost everyone's are.

You're not likely to be any more mad than you already are, just because you see things. And well, I wouldn't trust a psychiatrist or psychologist to come up with the right answer if you don't see an optometrist first.

I have small glasses, so I have some area on top of them, and my hair's almost always tied back in some fashion. The hair doesn't really escape into that sector of my vision.

I can still read normal print books without my glasses, but not the computer.
