One of the fundamental flaws in the US "security" just made the news.
"Problem with [documents]" causes baby's death. I do not have words for this.
There is no guarantee that the baby would have lived if he'd gotten to the hospital on time, but there was no need for him to have been delayed, and the circumstances of the delay are appalling.

I mean, come on, last week had the sheriff's deputy who dumped a paraplegic out of his wheelchair and on to the floor while three other deputies watched. If I decided to spend time Googling, I'm sure I could find plenty of other stories of such incompetence and plain lack of respect among the police around the country if not the world.
A tragedy? Yes. Unique to the Border Patrol or DHS? No.
