ETA (well after the fact by now): I now know who you actually meant. ^^;; I had foolishly assumed that by "Fearless Leader," you meant someone entirely different (as in someone on one of our teams). The one to whom (I think) you refer, I had never even heard of before, and I hadn't been following the news threads. ^^;; My apologies for any confusion I may have caused here due to my own ignorance of the situation and my misunderstanding of it.

Which, unfortunately, also means that if you're logged out (cookie expired, you clicked Logout, random glitch, whatever) - ads. Permanent account or not. Because if doesn't know your account level until you've logged in.
I wish that when they had introduced ads, they'd be shown only to Plus users. Not even to Basic users who're reading a Plus account, let alone on the logged-ou main page. But ah well. That's all water down the stream.

SUP acquired LJ for one reason and one reason only - to make money. Free accounts don't make money.
If I were a permanent account holder, I'd start getting nervous. You folks are only slightly less money making than free accounts.
