Some links and other trivia:

THE.... Sodomite Hal Duncan!! -- a response to a troll. Some NSFW language/imagery.

Parallel universe! -- also via [livejournal.com profile] shadesong.

Blocking known bad links in HTML cleaner process -- way to go, [livejournal.com profile] gariev! The timing suggests that this is in direct response to this past week's attack of spamjournals placing a browser hijack in their profiles, and then serial-adding people. I approve.

Darkside informs me that mages are squishy and best served with red wine. :-P Brat.

In a locked post elsejournal, someone mentioned the way businesses have to avoid making actual announcements on April 1st, and so forth. I put forward the idea of a holiday safeword: some signale pre-arranged between you and your friends, so that you would be able to tell them about any known-serious breaking news without fear of being dismissed as a prank. It's a surprisingly popular concept, I see from the comments.

So THAT'S what that serial adder was trying to do. >.<;; As soon as I got the friending notify from this one "person" I never heard of, I foolishly visited their profile page to see who it was and figure out why they added me. When I determined that they were, in fact, a serial adder, I instantly banned them.

They're now suspended, but now I'm wondering what damage, if any, could have already been done. ^^;;; I think I'm okay, since my browsing ability wasn't hindered afterwards, but the fact that this even happened in the first place is unnerving. Kudos to the development team for patching this one up right away!

If that's the same person who added me, they dropped me again about fifteen minutes later, so I'm not sure whether banning is really necessary or useful.

They never removed me, so it was probably someone else who added you. Either that, or they got suspended before they had the chance to remove me. ;)

I banned them because I didn't want them spamming me with gibberish comments, as I've had a couple of other serial adders do. ^^;; I didn't know what this person's intention was, so I played it safe.
