actually...they get them free. There's a loophole where they can get the domain names free for 3 days. Then they cancel, and then...re-register.

120 hours is the tasting period, after which it's no longer refundable. (Guess what industry I work in!) And I see both of them: people tasting, and people buying domains, seeing for the first 100-ish hours if the ads get hits, if so, they keep 'em and put the domain up for sale, and if not, they dump 'em so they're not paying for an anchor.
