Security came in just as we all were applauding. We have been giving him a hard time since. Pun intended.

I notice you have a cuecat. Should I get one? I don't think I could ever do library thing without one, and I have read that it can make selling books and other ebay items easier. And they're cheap. But I've also heard they phone home a lot.

There must be a Windows equivalent of 'delicious library', which can use a webcam to scan barcodes.

That would be much cheaper than a proper barcode scanner.

I don't actually have a webcam, though. (Also I admit to being fond of the cute aspect of the cuecat.)

Sorry, I meant that a webcam would be cheaper than a proper barcode scanner.

The cuecat was cute, but it requires hacking to use properly and I remember it being one of the first big cases of the DMCA being used, as it was 'encrypted' using essentially ROT13.

All the ones I've come across on ebay have been USB enabled and modded into standard barcode usage. I use one for DVD tracking and had no issue with it out of the box.
