I had been examining the concept that I might not be neurotypical in that direction, but that serves to convince me that really, no. I'm just from an alien culture and have high distractability, that's all.

I actually didn't think you had an ASD to begin with, but of course, that's only based on what I know of you through LJ and IRC. ;) It's just that the things you say and your ability to catch onto things at what appears to be lightning speed, doesn't seem to be typical of people with ASD.
The high distractibility, on the other hand, sounds more like ADHD. You wouldn't even necessarily have the "hyperactive" version of it; there is the "inattentive type," as well.
