Anyone got a good comprehensive history of LJ Admin vs. LJ Users, beyond the major stuff, the major stuff to be defined as:

1) the 6A buyout
2) ads
3) assorted and not necessarily specified controversial moments involving the Abuse Prevention Team including boobies
4) assorted and not necessarily specified controversial technical changes that were not popular
5) Strikethrough, which is in a category of its own, to be burned, have the ashes burned, and then the ground in which they're buried salted
6) the removal and subsequent proposed return of Basic accounts

If so, comment, please.

I liked Barak actually, insofar as we spoke to each other. (F_W at one point was threatening to write RPF about us because they said I was flirting with him. *eyeroll* I wasn't, but based on our brief interaction if he asked me out I'd have been willing to go to dinner and see if we liked each other.)

Still like him better than I like Anton Nossik.

But I did think there was terrible communication between him, his paid staff, and abuse.

I'm not going to go into details that aren't mine to give, but at least Admiral Naismith kneecapped the ImpSec courier in relative good faith.

I don't need or want to know WHO. But if I'm expected to judge the guy based on something he did, I at least need to know what, you know?

Possibly also the fights I had with Abe on no-lj-ads would be of interest, as they're what sparked foxfirefey to start writing code to put in Firefox so you wouldn't have to see what Abe didn't want you to be able to opt out of.

(I am generally not the obvious person in major crisis points but I am frequently a catalyst.)

Perhaps. Though a general "no grudgematches with users" is probably sufficient. I don't want to dig up any specific grudgematch to use as an example (it might go over really wrong even if both of you are OK with being used as an example). Thanks for bringing those up though.

Well, it wasn't a grudgematch then. I totally know what you mean and am in no way endorsing the Laura Hale School of Historiography. Just that I think that was actually a point at which things changed for some people.
