(Old stuff: December 20-27) Eclipse, holiday, blue canary, etc.

Going back through my Twitter-stuff. Apparently I've been in histrionics about shoes for the past month. This does not actually say good things to me.

In the evening, I went downtown for what was to have been a bit of a hack session, but plans got scrambled. No matter! I hiked up to Borderlands, though I'd been silly and was not prepared for the rain. I thought I'd drop by Beretta to see if Joshie was going to come by, but it was too crowded and I was too restless. The moon was full, at any rate, and I felt the need to go places and be on the move. There was going to be an eclipse! On the solstice! I got some more coffee and hit BART for back home, stopping by Target for a new mouse (my old one was dying and jumping places every now and then) and a bathrobe.

I saw the eclipse through a break in the clouds. It was lovely. I stood looking up in awe for a while. Then it got cold and I went back in, popping back out every once in a while to look some more. This turned into my solstice observation.

I reveled in my fluffy black bathrobe, one of my most brilliant holiday gifts to myself ever. So warm! So fluffy! So actually-fitting-me!

Then there was #mooreandme. Oh god, male celebrities, sometimes you just need to stuff a sock in it.

Syne was starting to settle in in the new house, and her internet was still spotty. This left us woeful in her absence, but overjoyed to see her again.

One of the things that had set off the woefulness about shoes was Kat's wedding plans, where I want to enjoy myself thoroughly, but cannot imagine myself actually enjoying it with terrible shoes. The occasion calls for a pair of shoes that I do not own. However, I located the exact pair that I saw in my head on eBay. Pity it's not in the budget...

December 23:
I decided to wake myself up with my hoarded can of Rockstar. I twisted the lid off, and BAM! it came off! With a dreadfully explosive noise! Woke me right the hell up.

Farmers' Market! A fuckton of vegetables!

More catching up on old journaling. I am really dreadfully behind.

Wound up listening to "Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire", billed as light holiday music; I reacted all out of proportion with the intent of the songwriter and people who'd shared it.

December 24:
Wrote up some pretty gnarly stuff that I'd been processing for a whole year. After that, felt remarkably free.

December 25:
Got a call from Dawn. Yay!

Spent the afternoon with my aunt. We had a nice and quiet and peaceful day. I introduced her to damnyouautocorrect and also vajazzling.

In retrospect, I do want a party on Christmas. More noise and people. Even though Christianity is not my thing, I still have family traditions involving partying.

I had wound up in #yuletide chat, and I was in the middle of attempting to write some interestingly cracky stuff as a potential treat.

I had a nice long conversation with my father about the Cr-48 and its capabilities. He was sounding sharp and alert again. He'd been fitted with excellent new hearing aids; let's hear Tay-Tay and me together: ABOUT TIME!

December 26:
Went on a walk with my aunt. The poodle did not get to hump, but did get humped by two dogs. Deacon had eaten a lemon, as we found out. That was likely to have been uncomfortable.

27th:
Tripline wrote back to tell me exactly how the sorting had gone wrong. I was fascinated. I love weird bugs, and I love hearing about what caused them and how it was solved.

I tried calling my best friend. He asked me to call back later: he was driving. Then he called me back first! Then there were problems with his cellphone battery. So he called me back from his mom's phone. He needs a new battery, I think. ♥

[personal profile] cleverthylacine gave me a blue canary, for the outlet by my light switch! One problem: I have no outlet by my light switch. I tried it in the outlet by the door nearest the kitchen light switch. (That turned out to be too bright to be good for sleep, so I moved it to inside the kitchen.)

I went over to my aunt's, and we walked Deacon and looked at some of the lights. Then we walked back and watched The Extra Man
