I am parked at my aunt's on high ground, with plenty of water, food, and a recent backup of my machine.

Any waves are expected to hit just over five hours from now. In the meantime, time for some sleep.

People have been checking in on IRC and Twitter. @tiger checked in (scared, ok), afuna is out of the path, JD is high & dry, a ciastal friend is evacuating; Pyro, you can confirm that Ev is not coastal.

My housemate is asleep. He had plans that involved, among other things, going to the beach on the last day of a guest's visit. He doesn't know yet, because he went to sleep before it happened. I left him a note. I feel a bit bad. But we're not especially coastal, and I worry so much more for so many other people. For what will happen in Hawaii and what the total affect in Japan is going to be. But we should be fine, other than that last I checked, he's not going to the beach.
