Apparently I read fic and commented on things. It seems that Twitter was failwhaling during the nightly import, but I didn't notice in time to retrieve the tweets. Ah well.

... oh. Apparently I was stressed out and not sleeping well. I cried on [livejournal.com profile] khasael's shoulder, and things got a bit better.

There was this extreme asshat, Kenneth Tong, being an asshat in the news and on Twitter, epitomizing the male gaze and the things that are very, very, very wrong with the diet-industrial complex. I hope he chokes on his self-righteousness.

And then that misogynist wingnut in Arizona. It was not a good day.

One of the great things about the ##chatfish channel is the homework. There is collaboration and tutoring and hilarity. Some moles have tentacles. Which had nothing to do with the actual homework, but was hilarious anyway.

There were MythBusters at the Green Hornet opening party, and I watched some of the streaming video.

We treasured any indication that anyone besides us might have been gay. Michael Stipe.

I chatted with [personal profile] rb about plot-stuff, and things clicked a bit bookwise. Hello, Encanto Park, you are the solution to problems!

I dream in fisting metaphors, apparently. Shawn showed up in a dream.

I misheard the line "I want to wake you from your dreams" as "I want a wiki for your dreams", which delighted me even more.

[twitter.com profile] lindensphinx was the person to have stuck together the "crap tributes" from Oglaf, with the "tributes" from the Hunger Games trilogy, and ... well. This got stuck in my head.

Got some errands run (who makes cherry flavored liquid B vitamins, anyway? Gack.) and retrieved [personal profile] ase from a biotech networking-and-stuff event, sparing her Evening Caltrain Shenanigans. Good times.

And then Sarah Palin started throwing around the term "blood libel" without having done her homework. Oh god. Hint: unless someone's threatening to kill you because you kill babies to consume their blood? Not "blood libel".

This is just an all-around bad idea video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpdCKkl879s (Everclear on fire in a sink, with running commentary from the guys doing it)

Wednesday: general panic.
Walkies with aunt; Trader Joe's.
Went over to aunt's to hack on site while she got ready for tango (she was doing the refreshments). Had dinner.
Went to the bank like a motherfucking adult. Stopped by Daiso on the way home. Apparently *they* have claw-clasps that hold my braid folded three times, when I've been searching for years for just that. They also had a very cheap Swiffer-style floor cleaner, of a brand that I did not recognize. Instead of disposable sheets, it uses microfiber cloths. It's got the same poke-the-thing-here attachment method. Since anything that will encourage me to make my apartment less of a hole is a good thing, I got this. So far it has picked up a decent amount of stuff from my kitchen floor. However, the construction is frustrating: the head is meant to swivel, but there is one particular angle that I seem to reach a lot when I am cleaning, which pops the head off the stick. It is meant as a feature, to replace the head, but it is more like a bug. I may wind up fixing it with duct tape.

I watched MythBusters with [personal profile] shirozora -- so we were a few hundred miles apart, we were chattering on Twitter, which made things very hilarious.

I had been procrastinating on the spec for a native Dreamwidth twitter-importer for a while; I'd already bribed [personal profile] exor674 with a convenient supply of chocolate I just happened to have on hand to build it, all that was needed to do was to describe it and make sure that I hadn't missed anything important. So I put together the things I'd been thinking about and stuck it in my journal so I could get brains other than mine to look at it.

Cheryl Haworth is an Olympic weightlifter who has a body type similar to mine. I was underestimating the amount that my brain was equating "strong like I was in high school" to "body that looks like mine in high school"; knowing that someone who looks like me now can be strong like I was in high school, stronger -- that makes some of the scary things in my head sit down and STFU.

Today is Thursday.
Early morning: cranked through streamlining resumé. Things more than 10 years in the past can start dropping off, right? Scary that I've been an adult so long. Waiting for some brain-coherent before sending it off.

Decided on a strategy for building my resumé: making a table, and listing my employer, my position with them, the skill I'd used there, and a concrete example or elaboration on same. It was surprisingly good for my impostor syndrome, which commenced whining and then shut up.

Called the bank like a motherfucking adult.

Thursday: lots of sleep. Then went grocery shopping.
