I stopped cross-posting by default a while ago, and each bit of LJ hilarity since then has reduced the number of things that I've crossposted. It's sad. They did hang on longer than forecast, though! I had guessed this past March or April for when LJ would no longer be recognizable as the place we knew.
I guess everything changes. They've built houses on the land where the high-rise flat I grew up in was, and closed down my old high school. (And merged it with a new one on the site of our formal rivals!)
Much like the changes to LJ, those things would be really disconcerting if I ever went back to Gourock. I might have my friends page tab open in Safari, but I'm not really 'from' LJ any more - much like Gourock, it's no longer home.
*hugs, if you'd like* it's immensely frustrating and feels personal to me, as I just yelled on capslock_dw, but it's deeply, DEEPLY personal to you. D:
Yeah, I wouldn't rely on LJ syndication for anything timely - best to use a real RSS reader. (Especially what with ephemeral comments on syndicated posts.)

I have followed the RSS feed account. Poor LJ.

I miss Alaska a lot, but I don't know if I could live there again.
