Best New Year.

On the actual day of January 1, I was mostly too busy having fun and then sleeping the sleep of the very exhausted and disrupted-sleep-scheduled to make a public note of all the fun I was having.

I was awake in time to head into IRC and join the crowd of assorted revelers. Most of the stuff, you actually had to be there for. But there was dancing and kissing and cheering and completely hilarious proposals of marriage followed by color wars worthy of Flora and Merryweather. For the record, [personal profile] dreamatdrew, most redheads really aren't flattered by pink clothing.

This bit started with Drew asking whether you could in fact take a horse through a drive-through, and continued until it reached [personal profile] kjwcode:
[23:49] <kjwcode> Azz: Booger Thing in my city doesn't allow walk-throughs, but one time while I was drunk as hell, wearing a toga, and carrying a violin they made an exception.
[23:51] <rahaeli> kjwcode: somehow i am strangely not surprised that you have done this

[personal profile] synecdochic's New Year tradition involves two songs. Just about that time, I saw a reminder from someone on Twitter that website copyright dates need the updating. Thus:

And it's one more day up in Bugzilla
And it's one more night in IRC
It's been so long since I've seen Translation
I guess I should.

website copyright dates need the updating

They do? Why?

Unless you mean: they need updating if something has actually changed in that year?

(Updating copyright dates as a matter of course even if nothing has changed is a pet peeve of mine. For example, going through a bunch of source code and updating the copyright on every single file even if the last change other than to the copyright line was in 1998.)
