WE ARE PAVING ALL DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING AREAS IN THE COMMUNITY!
On June 12, 2012 we are starting on the leasing office side of the community.
Buildings [my side] will NOT have access to your parking garages from 7am – 9pm.
On June 13, 2012 we will be completing the south side of the community across the street.
Buildings [the other side] will NOT have access to parking in the garages from 7am – 9pm.
Please plan on removing your vehicle from the garage prior to 7am and park it on the street so you have access to it.
You are free to use the walking paths to access your apartment homes.
Do not, under any circumstances walk on the driveways.

2nd email, Monday: more of the same, with some emphasis:
FRIENDLY REMINDER; MOVE YOUR VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE BY 7AM SHARP

THERE HAS BEEN A CHARGE IN PLANS!!!
DUE TO UNFORSEEN WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE SEALANT IS NOT DRY YET!
ALL GARAGES THAT CLOSED AT 7AM THIS MORNING,
WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 6/13/12 AT 5PM
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

I was at work in the south bay when I got this, so I didn't know what the "unforseen weather conditions" were. This was the final straw that tilted me in the direction of parking with the mechanic. If my email didn't go to my phone, I wouldn't be triaging it at work, and I wouldn't have seen that message. Heck, if I'd been slammed busy enough to not have a moment to triage my email here and there, I wouldn't have seen that message.
When I got home, I saw barriers up. There was flagging tape, there were little blockades. I did *not*, however, see any signage about the change in plans. Just barriers, barriers that could as well have been abandoned to be cleaned up the next morning for all the context they had.
And then the next email, this morning:
URGENT!!! RESCHEDULE THE PAVING OF BOTH DRIVEWAYS.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO READ YOUR EMAILS, FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS AND COMPLIED WITH THE SIGNAGE, BARRICADES & CONES!
Unfortunately, some of you did not and took the liberty to move the barricades/cones and turn the garages on.
Due to the damage done by driving on it and walking on it – we now have to reschedule to do it over again.
PLEASE, watch for the next email with dates and times of the next garage closures.
Buildings [not me] has been postponed. We are waiting on sunny weather.
We will be emailing and posting signage as soon as the paving is scheduled.

It's a quiet enough neighborhood, and I am monastic enough, that most of them have yet to make an impression.

beyond the obvious, what bothered me the most was the horrible writing. Why do people use so many exclamation marks? "A BIG THANK YOU!!!!" pffft. (Having spent just about the last three months looking for apartments on and off, I am also sick of the "AMAZING LUXURIOUS HIGH CEILING MISPELLED GIBBERISH" that tends to pervade real estate marketing.)
