Worse - some of our QA will just IM a "Hi" when they have a question and then wait for a response. I don't get it. IM is async; if I'm not there but come back to a question I'll answer it. If they just say "Hi" and I'm not there, and then they aren't there when I answer it - we're playing tag unnecessarily.

The NYT online report about the Sikh temple attack has the following quote:

“Everyone here is thinking this is a hate crime for sure,” said Manjit Singh, who goes to a different temple in the region. “People think we are Muslims.”

This may be related to CNN's insistence.
