All Reinstalled

...well, mostly.

Anybody know how to tell a file that it is not, in fact, a hidden system file, but a just plain old regular visible file? I don't take well to the L3373r Than Thou thing, especially when it's my .mp3's that are the files in question.

I think (and Arlo the Windows user has confirmed) that it's one of the things in the Properties dialog (bottommost thing in the rightclick menu).

Obviously your computer disapproves of your musical taste.

My first suggestion would be that grabbing someone's ears and pulling them apart from each other is a good way to get their attention. The upper lip is another good sensitive spot. But I'm also picking Arlo's brains again, in case you choose to be more civilized. He says, "It's probably marked as a system file. If it's not showing up at all, make sure that the folder options are set to let you view hidden files and system files. Then the file should appear, but be grayed out. Get the Properties menu and uncheck System as well as Hidden."

Oh. The last thing Arlo can think of is that if you have an NT/2K box (I don't remember), it might be a permissions thing. The papercuts-under-the-fingernails solution is sounding better and better.
