Some radio songs that have been variously making my world more interesting recently:
"Anna Sun" - I hear the video has unfortunate racist shit in it. Minus the video (which I haven't seen and probably won't due to the aforementioned), the song touches my brain in weird liminal ways (threshold between teenage and adult, threshold between things I lived and things I imagined, threshold between people I really know and people who don't exist exactly) and I don't quite know who the characters in my head who are attached to it are, but I can see the silver wood and horrible 70s amber and brown floral couch. -- oh holy fuck, is it Beatrice, Ben, and their friends? (The trouble with those character names is that anyone who knows their Shakespeare is going to expect Beatrice and Ben to have it off, and they won't.)
"Tongue Tied" - This is a Max/Amber/Raven song. It wouldn't fit if not for Max, and that makes me sad because I know their days as a triad are numbered, and I sort of want to keep them there for a while, but I know time moves on.
"Somebody I Used to Know" - It's still getting airplay, so it's still on my brain. I will someday make the mix that this belongs in. "See You Again" is in the same mix, be warned.
"Thrift Shop" - This just straight-up amuses me. It's clever, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

He then has hallucinations which become real, including creating the personification of his confidence and paranoia.
The song at the start is about the least surreal part of the episode, really.

And I am sadly/actually-not-so-sadly obsessed with Thrift Shop right now, for you aformentioned reasons. And the little brassy parts in the background, those are awesome, and the ability to go up to someone and go WUT WUT WUT WUT and have them start singing along.
