In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is unaccountably disturbed by the presence of those scientific tools with the 500-nanometer electromagnetic spectrum emitters, and claims he can sense when they're activated when he's nowhere near close enough to feel the heat from their power draw.

The usual form might apply when the blind persons are recently blinded, such as happened in The Day of the Triffids, but if "the Land of the Blind" is long established, indeed.

I figured that a proper Land of the Blind would be long-established. And absent non- blind folks, it might well be designed with the same general lack of consideration for access that the sighted layperson of Earth has.

A non-echolocator would also be pretty fucked there.
