I'm allowed to take ibuprofen when I pop out a couple marble+ sized blood clots, right?
Ibuprofen or any other stronger painkiller if feasible/suitable/appropriate, I'd say.

@Skud I'm familiar with "sewing bee" and "quilting bee" from my misspent youth reading late 1800s American books.
@Skud So it carries the flavor of a gathering for the purpose of work, but with a strong social/bonding element to enhance productivity.
Definition of BEE
: a gathering of people for a specific purpose <a quilting bee>
Origin of BEE
perhaps from English dialect been help given by neighbors, from Middle English bene prayer, boon, from Old English bēn prayer — more at boon
First Known Use: 1769

(from MW, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bee)

But the use of that word that came first to my mind, "spelling bee", is competitive, not collaborative/cooperative.
