Spot the difference:

"I am awesome, and I like to think I have something to offer anyone who might be interested."


Scenario number one does not seem to acknowledge the idea that anyone might be disinterested.

Scenario two is only aimed at the interested. (Though it does not really address where one of the interested parties might not be to this person's taste.)


Two sounds more likely to back off at signs of disinterest.

I have heard variations on #1 from many too many dudes on dating sites, and there's a problem underlying it: dude thinks (or projects the attitude) that he is basically irresistible, and that he feels entitled to instruct applicants to pre-screen themselves -- in a way that he is likely to ignore if some girl he considers pretty has a "No douchebags" notice on her dating profile.
