Hey, alarmists?

You know how Star Wars III is supposed to be about the really dark and grim things that happen after Star Wars II and before Star Wars IV, like how it came about that the Republic turned into the Empire, and almost all the Jedi are dead, and all that happy stuff?

Well, there is now a rumor going around the internet that because of the planned themes of the movie (respected politician gets office by underhanded and sneaky maneuver, and then proceeds to lightsaber-dice all the ideals that the Republic has stood for) being too close to what "Some People" are accusing the respected Pres. Bush of doing (and consider the Star Wars I and II events including terrorists blowing up the Senator's ship, drastic measures taken, getting in political bed with the Trade Federation) that the content of Star Wars III will not be shown in US theatres as originally filmed.

Would anyone stand for this?

Oddly enough, if that were to happen, I think it might just get people off their political duffs. People get nasty about their bread and circuses, man.

If Lucas won't take advice from his friends and peers about the ways to improve his movies, I doubt he'll be bowed by political lobbies either. He's filthy rich. He can do what he likes, as has been amply demonstrated.
