Variously not cool

Death threats: generally uncool.

HOWEVER.

Women who say things on the internet sometimes get really grotesque and credible death threats. One of the common suggestions boils down to "well, maybe you should stop saying things" (because you can never meet the impossible expectations for what things are inoffensive enough to say while female).

If you happen to be male
and posting deliberately douchebag things
or mimicking the colors and patterns of the trilby-topped
white north american cisbro
punching down, not up
and you get death threats
SUCKS TO BE YOU
MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T SAY THINGS ON THE INTERNET

I am so desensitized to "online death threats", you have no idea. Like, sometimes various friends/acquaintances of mine get some of the really shitty nasty sorts of comments, and my first impulse almost always has to be choked down, because my first impulse is almost always "pfft, that's nothing!" And that is so not helpful...

"Concludere" is a verb. I think you were thinking of Conclusa tumbliae. Though that is often confused in the wild with Virago invicta, Virago bellatrix, Mater caligae-gerendum and Vir virtutis. HTH.

Helen Mirren has an answer to "well, maybe you should stop saying things"
(asterisks from the original)
Dame Helen Mirren has said that if she had children, the first words she would have taught a daughter would be ‘f*** off’ – after she endured years of sexism during her early career.

She says: ‘If I’d had children and had a girl, the first words I would have taught her would have been “f*** off” because we weren’t brought up ever to say that to anyone, were we?

‘And it’s quite valuable to have the courage and the confidence to say, “No, f*** off, leave me alone, thank you very much.”
