I will cast doubt on Clarkson's program, just based on the people I know who did undergrad there. If the frozen north of NY is desired, I would suggest RIT, URochester, Cornell, or UBuffalo.

You're going to find administrative and managerial fuckery everywhere, but UW will definitely have some. Program is reputed very good, also very competitive. You do rotations.

Upside: the union is good, I can vouch for that. Also there is now trans-inclusive healthcare there, afaik.
