Is it a friend, or a "friend"? Because, I have to tell you, that sounds to me like a perfectly acceptable thing to write to one's friends.

He's a hugging friend, not a kissing friend. We discussed the topic about two years ago; if he ever discovers he wants to change the parameters of our friendship, he's welcome to mention it. Since I was the one to bring it up then, if it gets revisited, it's his turn.

He is, however, interested in the concert. I do intend to inquire as to whether he cares to dance once we're there and perhaps jumping up and down as is the custom. (Abney Park, but don't follow Captain Robert back home because he's ... tiresome ... on a few topics.)
