House Rules

• Dessert comes after a meal, not before.


• There is generally no dessert from breakfast.


• Couch Rules
  • No jumping on the couch
  
  
  • No jumping from the couch
  
  
  • No leaving toys on the couch
  
  
  • Couch cushions may be jumped on if they are removed from the couch first
  
  
  • Couch cushions must be returned to the couch after they are removed from it


• The cat is not allowed on the kitchen counters.


• Saying that you have eaten a meal when you have not in order to obtain dessert results in no dessert, and a trip to the corner for lying.


• If you take a toy to preschool with you after being told not to, that toy now belongs to the preschool.


• No uncovered dishes of leftovers in the refrigerator

We don't seem to have much of a problem with leftovers. They cycle around in about a week: anything older than that in there that's not rated to be in there that long gets tossed. Anything suspicious-looking gets tossed.

If there's something that really shouldn't have been a leftover in the first place, it usually gets tossed.
