There are cars. However, if you would like to come anyway, my partner is hoping that it can be done all in one shot. Volume estimation is not one of their core competencies, so we have no idea exactly how much space is needed to do this.

I will get back to you on Sunday with a firm yes or firm no after I figure out if I can clean out my car (without which it would not be very helpful for moving stuff) and if I can take a sick day without penalties (if not I had better not since you do have some people). Since it is a three hour drive, I think that I am leaning towards 'probably not' but I am also really hopeful that I can meet youse and be of help, so I am dithering a bit and waiting to see whether tomorrow brings a car-cleaning burst of energy or a 'what was I thinking?' moment. I am sorry to dither at you.

I hope you and your partner can have safe cozywarm good things during and after this sudden transition.

Those are all sensible considerations and I'm very glad you're taking that into account! I wouldn't want you to get into trouble on account of us.

I'm two states away and can't be of much direct help in the hauling and the moving (18+ hours driving), unfortunately. But my partner is the best and you've been cheering them on for a while now!

We are doing our best to stay safe and warm.

So I was not able to clean out my car because it is covered in ice and I probably will not be able to take a sick day unless it is an emergency (whether need for one other pair of hands/wheels, or medical for me, etc). :( So I am not coming Tuesday, alas. I'm sorry. I hope that there are enough people and carspace.

I will be in Seattle later in January if there is anything helpful I can do then? Or I can just hand off a batch of cookies or something aforementioned-partner-hospitable. Or not, whatever you folks prefer.

Do poke them when you're going to be in the area! I believe that cookies are always welcome, and hugs as well. (If you're only around when they are at work, it is a workplace very friendly to people dropping in to say hello, although there may be rules about food and drink, due to the nature of the venue. Though safely contained to take into the back room would probably be all right, although there might need to be enough to share...)
