A few things make an entry.

Saw my GP. Got a maintenance inhaler, after some invisible to me runaround that manifested itself as a delay (prescribed on the 5th, ready for pickup on the 12th) and two phonecalls. It's helping already. Or so my lungs say. Occasionally they eject some amazing goo.

I have a script for the medical deadnaming now.
In the hospital, I put "Be called [A.J.] the first time" in my goals for the shift box.
On the phone, it's "Please take a look at my medical record and try that again." The phone call about the maintenance inhaler was one of those. The response was a somewhat huffy "Well I guess I'll try tomorrow then!" with a second, apologetic call 15 minutes later when she found my preferred name way at the end of a field where she had to side scroll to find it. Dear medical software fuckers: take your interface and have a UX person fold it into sharp corners for you.

Also in health, my left shoulder is improving now that I'm treating it like I subluxated it and then kept re-injuring it. Based on the hilarious clicking sensation after my 2018 flu shot, that's probably exactly what happened. I got a sling for times I have to ride a bus (this being the most likely moment for re-injury, second only to trying to pull a blanket over myself).

Occasionally some blowhards on Twitter rattle their insignificant mouths about what women must and mustn't do. As someone who experiences gendered bullshit as a woman (give or take a few dress sizes, because I'm above the invisible weight line) I truly and sincerely hope these dudes never get the care of a child. Children deserve better than to be subjected to that.

Neural network candy hearts. Tag yourself: I'm MAGE LOVE. My callipygian partner is getting YOU REAR and BOOK from me, if I don't keep the latter for myself.

I'm back on my bullshit again, reading my way through the Outlander books. My library is plentifully supplied, and I've just received #3. Roger's introduction in #2 was not promising, and in fact I hated him on sight. He was relatable in a sexist fucko #menwritingwomen way, even though D. G. is a woman. It has the slimy feel of authenticity for a certain kind of shallow and repugnant man.

[personal profile] norabombay is back from a work trip and in the correct time zone again. This means important things for our regular chatter sessions.

I asked Belovedest if there were more opportunities for me to chill with "the siblings" (three siblings, two with significant others, for seven total) and got added to the group text. It's nice.

Kiddo is heading to California to see her grandma. Grandma had a fall and needed hip surgery, and kiddo hasn't seen her since 2017. So definitely time. We'll catsit.

Shadley will be visiting later this spring. He's better than the previous boyfriend-shaped objects, but tbh that was a low bar. He's extremely busy and having problems making time between his other responsibilities. (Legitimate ones, but that's still tough.)

Still playing Gems of War. The other week the guild closed portal 10 (the last one) and we were super stoked. We also got to the last reward level of the tower the week before. This week is guild war. After that is invasion. There's a 4 week rotation. Belovedest and I play together, so between us we're super high level and get a lot of gold. A while ago I got us enough souls to level all of our troops as far as they could go, so now we're accumulating souls like nobody's business. (There are so many currencies, omg. Gold, souls, gems, jewel shards, jewels, diamonds, ingots in ascending rarity and power, traitstones in 6 base flavors, 4 levels, and 6*6 combo flavors including doubles, orbs in 4+1 flavors and 3 power levels, 6 levels of treasure, and now 6+1 flavors of deeds. And medals, that's the newest.)

My favorite is still the 2048-esque match-3 mini game, in which 8 levels of mobile loot aspires to be matched into a 9th and immobile immiscible level in a finite but incrementable number of turns. Instead of the actual 2048 shaken game board, it's match 3 unidirectional gravity physics with no explosions.

Sibling-Pips got the ancestral recipes from Grandma, and I have taken a whack at the tomato sauce. At some point we may do some canning, but that time is not now.

Early in January we had some Weather that I haven't gotten around to posting about, but there was a 4-ish hour power outage and a sump pump alarm. Ever since then I've been reacting to high winds with mild alarm and a compulsion to make sure we have a nice kettle of hot water ready. Belovedest got a big battery and adapter for their CPAP. It'll run it for a few nights with some phone charges to spare. I have a safety plan for the cold foods. The water is city and likely gravity-driven or at least isn't dependent on our power. We're thinking about what it would take to get backup power for the sump pump.

There's a particular road that I have my eye on for both ice and landslides, but fortunately there are other routes.

I have finished the Ancillary Justice series, and may now inhale all the fic.

I have a Pebble 2 watch. I love my Pebble 2 watch. I have a Pixel XL phone. I love my Pixel XL phone. Unfortunately, they do not love each other, and I think it's the Bluetooth LE radio fighting with the cellular radio somehow. I have banged on the settings enough to get a little further troubleshooting than some of the Usual Dudes, but I haven't reimaged the phone yet. After I get around to doing that, I'll see if I can still replicate it. The hell of this is, support for the original Pixel is discontinued, and Pebble got eaten by Fitbit. My 2 was down to 1-ish days of battery on vanilla Bluetooth, but on LE it's lasting for days.

Recruiters continue to call. I've started crafting a stock answer for type of work, location, and payment based on location. This will change when there's a better connection to Redmond, but for now the East side has a $10+ commute surcharge.
