The days scroll by
It's sunny out this morning.
I think I'm getting over the worst of the evil mastermind chuckling urge to attach plastic snaps to everything, through exposure and the occasional error. Yesterday I had not one but two bad squishes (one squished the outie snap rim instead of the point, the other squished unevenly and clogged the channel where the outie is supposed to go) plus some trouble aligning all the layers including fabric.
I'm bad at straight seams. I think it may be an ADHD thing at this point. I loathe ironing. I'm starting to accept that maybe precision sewing will never be my thing.
In other news I attached a ruffle to the bottom of another nightgown, having removed it from a nightgown that had worn to the point of holes in the chest. I need to find one of my several seam rippers. I did the removal with big scissors and an awl.
I'm getting good at turning sleeves from Belovedest's discarded undershirts into hat mounted masks. Monday I tried converting a sweatband into a mask mount. Unfortunately, and I didn't realize this until too late, I made the snaps the opposite of the hats, and the mask to fit the sweatband. So that one is just going to have to be the weird outlier.
We did a Trader Joe's run on Monday. I drove, to make sure my car would keep running. They were out of orange chicken. :( We did get a basil plant, which I hope will keep us in caprese salad for a while. (Not that I can have much of that.)
I have a hiking water bladder, and I'm thinking about how to rig that with a mask so I won't dehydrate. Not that I'm going to be out terribly long, but see also: Costco.
We're good on toilet paper, finally. We didn't run out, but we got to where I would normally put it on the list. And in these times that was a source of anxiety. I wasn't counting on being able to find any when we needed it in Costco. But the website let us backorder it even though it was out. It took a couple days longer to ship out, but we got it before we ran out.
The Roombot likes to go under the bed. Yellface isn't sure what to make of this, but she would like her breakfast please.
Belovedest is going to try and trombone from home. We have a good microphone and a basement.
Belovedest's work has informed them that work will be resuming from home in the near future. This will be a fun trick because work has not yet switched to staff laptops. Their desk in the living room is vaguely ergonomically correct and much closer to clear than before the great filening. The media room has a door.
I've been on IRC again, mostly lurking with the #adventuresofStNoNo crew. I try to scroll through in the morning even if I'm not able to be at my desk all day.

There are never enough students to make a full concert band at the local community college, so people from the community round out the band.
The conductor's planning on sending a timekeeping video, and everyone is supposed to audio-record their part. Fortunately no one (except maybe a cat or two) will be bothered by tromboning at home (assuming it's not the middle of the night or migraine/etc. season).
