Say that a society has a user manual that delineates how children should be raised, how laws should be laid down, how adults should interact, and has a good chart of personality types.

If someone was raised using a set of techniques not covered in your user manual, why do you expect them to accept the laws and customs in your user manual as the logical correct thing? For that matter, perhaps your user manual, your infalliable user manual, doesn't have a good way to deal with these people.

Live, learn, and adapt.

Raised in cabin in woods in Alaska without TV, and without <insert book of religion here>. Was therefore quite a bit unable to connect to other kids at school. Was not within acceptable range of former fundie fiancé; dumped him cheerfully.

I'm still considered absolutely insane by the majority of the people who know me.
