Mammograb

Most of my prescriptions were ready yesterday, but not all. One had to be shipped, and the other wasn't approved. That one is just my antihistamine, so I can absolutely exist on OTC but the main reason it's prescribed is because it can get expensive. Also, Doc thought the OTC usual one was getting ineffective. (I still disagree about the source of the left-ear headaches.)

It's harder for me to sleep without my phone. It has the games I use to chill out without getting too wound up to sleep.

The mammogram was fine. I borrowed [personal profile] alexseanchai's phone for map and emergency phone. I struggled with the map (it needed location) and didn't need the phone.

They gave us a fresh medical mask at the screening station, and sprayed my hands with sanitizer after asking whether I had allergies. They also asked if I had any breathing problems. Since I do, I got an orange label dot to signify that it was not a violation of the terms under which I was in the building if I had to carefully lift the mask a bit to catch a few breaths.

The setting was deliberately relaxing.

I locked up everything except my crochet bag and headphones in the provided locker. I got a little more done. An ex-tatter was there and we chatted.

The mammogram tech was good, but hadn't heard I would need a seat. Fortunately I was feeling up to requiring it. Also she gendered my breasts, which, ??????????

It was fascinating to have my body arranged to get good boob images. I followed directions well and held still as directed. I had to hold my breath while the image was being taken. There wasn't too much pressure. Some squish, but partners have squoze harder.

We chatted a bit about computer woe. I gave her the standard wisdom I have obtained as a technologist: I believe you when you say the machine has been misbehaving, even when it stopped misbehaving as soon as the tech arrived. Then I explained two classics in the world of obscure bugs: the 500 mile email and the Wednesday bug.

There was one re-shoot, of the cleavage shot. Then I was done.

The phone repair place didn't have the screen in yet.
The pharmacy didn't have my pills yet.
I assume the phone company doesn't have the phone back in stock yet.

*googles "Wednesday bug", is not enlightened*

(I've heard the other one before and it is truly impressive)

I knew about the 500-mile email but not the Wednesday bug. This one?

You're welcome! (Though it feels weird to say that when I didn't know I was helping anyone besides myself until after I commented.)

Interesting, thanks for sharing!

(I'm most interested by the CERN bit that wasn't exactly a bug.)

Very weird. I call the hearse a she, I call my car a she, but if I looked at my junk and started calling them "THE BOYZ" that's just... I don't get it. I never got it. Very unsettling and irritating if you're nonbinary too.

I was sorta imagining, Now, this one's a girl boob, and this one's a boy.... and boggling a bit, to be sure.
