Yesterday was An Day, all right. (Backdated.)

Ev was supposed to return on Sunday, but her flight was canceled. That left her in California a day longer than planned. It was too snowy to risk driving to the airport, so Ev took the bus from the airport to a much more reachable destination.

* call from doctor: too snowy out for the 8am & 9am patients; could I come in early? Because they were going to be leaving early for safety. Yes, we could roll out ASAP.

The drive was very snowy and we were behind a van with a bumper sticker along the lines of "The closer you get, the slower I drive" which was perfect for the conditions.

* trip to doctor: the access to the parking garage was blocked, so Belovedest dropped me off nearby and I tiptoed through the snow. My warmest easily accessible footwear? My woolly slippers.

* pick up Ev (a little later): she arrived at the station just as we were leaving the parking area. She was cold by the time we got there but now she knows where things are. The bus from the airport was very convenient.

* unplanned detour to Brown & Haley: Belovedest's favorite are the grahams. Ev's favorite are the cashew roca. Ev's mom sent a regifted chocolate box from work, which was a large amount of decent chocolate but still hilarious in that it was obviously a corporate thank-you gift due to the center dark chocolate bar being the gifter's logo.

* Costco (including Near Miss with Pickup): the parking lot was a mess and someone in a very large pickup wasn't looking where they were backing

* Safeway (including The Honkening): the floor by the door was an absolute puddle from all the snow tracked in. When we were leaving, someone nearly backed into us and I yelled at Belovedest like they were playing the Untitled Goose Game until they hit the horn. We escaped unhit.

* home (fitting things in fridge): a great miracle happened here
