Like the air

There's a new-to-me Shawn story, that I'll need more details on from She Who Had To Live Through It to tell properly. The gist of it is, it's a dumbass stunt to insist that just because Pizza Hut lets you have your four free toppings be Cheese With Extra Cheese, you should not. And he did. Even though the person who wanted the cheese pizza (She WHTLTI) said not to. Jackass.

I got my ENT appointment! The doctor looked at my nose, listened to me rattle off the things we've done already (treat allergies, spray Flonase, the heavy duty antibiotic for that nasty inflamed burst cyst which cleared up the perpetual infection in the left side, tried CPAP, unhealing scab in nostril, accidental discovery of deviated septum) and asked me if I wanted to try surgery. SCORE. We'll be hearing back from the insurance company soon. He confirmed that the most likely cause of that scab situation is the drying from the speed that air has to go through my face in order to get in, peered in my nose to see the scab and the other stuff, pressed on each side of the nose to close it off and had me inhale, told me that in addition to the deviated septum, the structures inside my nose are too large and that is causing the need for high airspeed. I told him about the air quality circumstances of my childhood and he winced visibly.

I will have to coordinate this around my other face stuff, if the insurance says yes. It had damn better say yes.

Like ADHD, this is some shit that could have been fixed with the proper medical treatment when I was much younger. I am keenly feeling that, and trying not to blame my mother. She was surprised by the deviated septum and asked me whether it was new. No, and I spent my childhood constantly sick and went through school oxygen deprived.

There was a Dreamwidth code push tonight; I did a code tour https://dw-dev.dreamwidth.org/232317.html and I'm sure there will be a post to collect any issues with the push as well in [site community profile] dw_maintenance, once Mark's less jetlagged probably 😅.

Thursday, Belovedest made a batch of M&M cookie bars, with the full amount of chocolate chips and then another scoop and a half of M&Ms. I helped in that I specified the recipe to be used, helped find ingredients, asked if they wanted to expend their energy on stirring a bowl with some cold butter or if they wanted the mixer to do it (mixer) and a few other tips, but they did pretty much the entire active portion. They took half to the potluck on Friday. We're still working on the rest.

The epic deed for today was sorting the snack table and some of the incoming groceries. Belovedest did most of the active stuff and moving things, I told them where to put it. Though I did manage to spray smoked salt all over my glass chair mat. I have made a note to look into a replacement battery pack for my little vacuum cleaner.
