Best part of nasal surgery
I can breathe! Without thinking about it!
Sometimes I feel slightly sneezy. I spray saline solution in my nose to loosen things up, and blow my nose.
AMAZING THINGS come out. But they weren't blocking my entire nose, just being a bit irritating.
I turn over in bed. Not because my nose requires it, but because the rest of my body would appreciate a shuffle. I feel a distinct bubbling within my sinuses, as of several air bubbles making their way to the top, but I can breathe through both sides of my nose. Even while lying down. Without thinking about it.
Right now my left nostril feels maybe 25% impeded. Maybe I should blow it again, because clearly there is a major blockage going on.
THIS IS AMAZING

They did not give me quite enough pain meds to get through the post-surgery if I'd been taking them precisely as written, but I have a habit of snapping them in half and seeing if I can get away with that level, and by using half-pills there were enough (plus I avoided the worst of the opiate side effects; one evening the tubes were Bad and I was heading into an entire anxiety attack and took a whole pill on the logic that this would make the nose feel very much Less; I wound up needing to lie down very quickly because I was feeling very spinny and slightly sick).
Breathing through the tubes after the surgery was already better than attempting to breathe through my chaotic meatballs. I probably could have used a ride the day I went in to get the tubes out, because that experience would have been much better medicated, but on the whole I have no regrets whatsoever.
