marxdarx: An old friend (1987) of Votania's who recently returned from the "people we used to know back when..." limbo and has started hanging out on the weekends, whenever he can make it here from BFE.
HSBF, Shawn: High School Best Friend, an interesting fellow with a knack for pyrotechnics. We've lost touch over the past couple years. He's got a daughter now, and a wife.
DC: an old friend from high school days back at home in Fairbanks. Very much like Sis. Her daughter was born in late June 2002. Used to date Shawn.
Rocki (the Red): A really cool mellow stoner-guy, Shawn's male best friend in those high school years. Obsessed with the color red.
Hawk: Votania's late beloved car, a Buick Skyhawk of uncertain age (pretty damn old). Went to the Summerlands in mid 2001.
Ginger: A friend since we were both in the womb. Wildly liberal, politically, environmentally, and socially active. Artistic, brilliant, and somewhat abrasive. Hung out with in the 5th grade a lot.
Galadriel: Friend from the 5th grade. Tiny, pale, delicate, artistic, beautiful. My first crush, female.
Gaia: Friend from the 5th grade. Artistic, brainy, down-to-earth.
BJ: My former fiance, 2 of 2. Used to be a fluffy-headed, over-religious and irritating high school buddy who I sometimes hung out with but more often wanted to smack some sense into. Is now most likely a drug dealer, and is on my blocked senders list.
The Elder Roommate: The oldest of my roommates in the Bachelor Apartment (from hell). Christian, conservative, with deep knowledge of how to properly get drunk. Decided to start a business with BJ and go to DeVry. Smoked big smelly cigars.
DancesWithUnderwear: One of the younger roommates in the Bachelor Apartment (from hell). Cool guy. Nice.
The Bachelor Apartment (from hell): The place in Phoenix where I lived from November 2000 to March(?) 2001, with BJ, the Elder Roommate, DancesWithUnderwear, and this other DeVry kid.

Savil: An excellently cool lesbian witch, who I've known since the 7th or 8th grade.

*scratches head* first, what was your name, and hers? though she doesn't sound familiar - if I did meet her, it would have been in passing.
I'm afraid of your group, I had the most contact with Shawn and Winter, as he was living in Nurland while trying to get his n' Sevek's n' folk's movie done.
Though I found out belatedly that Morgan was once part of Shawn's crowd when they ran into each other on the stairway. *shakes head* Mostly I kept to my smaller/seperate crowd - it's just that I couldn't help knowing everyone... you know how Alaska is like that!

My IRL name is Joan(ie), my sister is Julie, and she hung with the music crowd: Hannah, Erin, the contradance crowd. I was at UAF in winter 1998/spring 1999, very depressed.

Scary: my best friend Darkside looks alarmingly like Asa: a Fire too, only shorter hair (shoulder-length), blond, and more curly than frizzy. Maybe a little less in the belly, and more in the muscle, and very similar in the crazy.

Shawn's in San Francisco now with his wife and their daughter. I've recovered nicely from him, thanks to the good offices of Asa's clone. Brian, at last update, was selling weed in Anchorage. He and I didn't wind up getting married, for whatever reason.

Oh, and did you know DC, aka Mariah? She's about Morgan's age, and used to date Rocki... or did she? I'm not too certain. She may have at one point... I know she dated Shawn, because I was there when they met. Did you know Sudiptya? Or Lauren, the blonde karate lesbian witch from hell?
