Excessive excitement
Belovedest came back from their walk and observed that the downstairs dog was in the front yard. This prompted a very fast exercise in Cat Location (on bed, lounging, unaware) and an Inquiry into Door.
After that, we went shopping. Multivariable shopping! Quick zip through restaurant store, Costco pilgrimage (forgot to add laundry detergent to the list though), then H Mart. Sauce dishes, red bean jelly, some other confections. I immediately nommed a purple yam flavor bean jelly when we got to the car and was greatly restored.
The nearest Safeway was not our usual. This one was crammed with flowers in all types of red and pink. The first motorized cart I tried ran out of battery 2 aisles in. The second one had a chunk missing from a wheel. I used that one. None seemed to have functional indicator lights.
Costco had little cremes brulee, with instructions for oven broiler in addition to pocket dragon. 💕💖
I somehow managed to earn a 3 day trial of Super Duolingo. (2 perfect weeks in a row, 850 day streak maintained with copious use of freezes.) We'll see if it motivates or fails to motivate.
Steph got me some bath things ♦️♦️♦️
Currently reading the first of the Greenwing & Dart books. Enjoying so far, but not as extravagantly as The Hands of the Emperor. (Note: apparently the AO3 tags spoil an important character reveal for post-HotE, so be aware if heading in fic-first.) I'm enjoying the outsider view of Mrs. E, who figures in some other adventures.
I am also revisiting the Meg Langslow mystery series as bedtime stories, because Libby has a sleep timeout setting. I have been surprising myself by generally losing the plot after about 15 minutes. (That's why this is a reread.)
Hips are feeling generally better now that I'm not challenging their structural integrity on the fidgeter. I was able to withstand both the restaurant supply place and H Mart on my feet, although I could not have done Safeway or Costco in addition.
My new hobby continues to be nail polish. It's an extension of my interest in painting, but with more prefab elements. Last time I tried several new techniques.
* Mixing luster powder with a color
* Dotting
* Drawing with the dotting tool
* Embedding pointed rhinestones instead of flatbacks (this is obnoxious)
* French dip (french tip by dipping into polish on a silicone sponge)
* Possibly more but the luster powder thing was just so cool, it combined an unfavored powder with an unfavored polish and the result was cool
* Also the polka dots were floating, that was great

That French dip is fascinating, and it sounds so easy if you have longer nails. I love dotting tools! I've never mixed polishes, but I do layers pretty often. The place I used to shop a lot (Live Love Polish) has clear holo topcoats that are pretty subtle with 1 coat, so they're easy to customize. Do you ever post pics? I'm not really organized enough to take pics more than like twice a year, so. ...

I try to take pictures when I do them, but don't always manage to put them anywhere useful

How do you like blorbo.social? Have you written about it somewhere else? I mostly use discords, and mastodon seems a lot like that in terms of having smallish groups. If you have seen someone else posting about fannish instances, I'm happy to be directed there to save you time. thanks!

I was on one of the other fannish instances but got deleted for inactivity, which is fair.
