Your project sounds neat!

I tried making tinted sunscreen, and it went pretty well. I got an inexpensive cake of powder bronzer (light) and scraped some in. It got rid of the white cast and made it just a touch darker than my winter skin tone. I guess I decided I didn't need it to match completely because it's not that opaque.
