Somehow it's January

wtfjht_feed, which is maybe a little more political news than I am up for.
I'm making a low key commitment to wear at least one rainbow item of clothing in public for the duration. That's mostly handled by my rainbow stripe watch band, and the rainbow accessories on my water bottle, but I also have a rainbow stripe tank top on today (underneath a black mesh 3/4 sleeve shirt with grey velvet roses, for Goth cred).
New nail polish last night while waiting for my hair to dry: mostly plain light pink about the same intensity value as my hands, with one clear with pink micro sparkle for pulse oximetry. (There is a published paper about glitter nail polish and pulse oximetry.) I recently became convinced of the importance of storing gel nail polish upright, and that pale pink was one of the three main culprits, which I have been cleaning off with alcohol wipes and curing in place with the little black light flashlight. I now have some very clever double sided boxes: tilt them flat on either side to open and load, store upright. They come in colors, too, but I just got grey.

Today is an infusion day. I forgot to put the numbing cream on in the wild stampede out the door, and then again when switching drivers when it became apparent that the first hour of Belovedest's meeting wasn't going to have a remote option. So I declined the offer of lidocaine in the lab for the blood draw.
We're listening to Penric's Fox and have only an hour and change left.
Today's schedule:
Coffee
Lunch
Drive to Seattle
Knock over coffee
Ask front desk to notify janitorial
Write the problem and date on a tissue so they'll know where to clean (and no one will think it's litter and pick it up early)
Blood draw and conversation about Professor Harold Hill playing on the parents' racism in The Music Man ("...heading to the dance at the Army. Libertine men and scarlet women, and ragtime, shameless music that'll grab your son, your daughter with the arms of a jungle, animal instinct-- Hass-staria!")
Up a couple floors to wait for the oncologist appointment.
Eventually, on another floor for infusion.
And then home, probably by way of a sandwich joint.
Maybe after that I'll put some rhinestones or something on my nails.

The infusion went well! The largest mishap was me splashing peach syrup on the infusion chair. So, typical me, but the nurse brought over some stuff to clean it up so it wouldn't become a terrible hazard.
