Computer Crashage

Votania has hypothesized that one of the reasons behind Enki crashing so often and so fast is that he's on almost all day every day, being the server, and overheats. Consequently, I have moved my large bedroom-cooling fan to a place of honour behind the computer desk. The cabinet door is left open, so there's a decent breeze flowing through.

The one issue that I can see at the moment is that the fan is an old dying POS that's noisy as fuck, and makes uncomfortable sounds reminiscent of bad bearings.

another fan to replace the dying one is a good thing - also, see if you need to replace the thermal grease between processor and fan. Just did that on mine this morning.

Well, in this case, the fan in question that's dying is the external one: a nice large foot-square fan that used to cool my bedroom. Votania's being driven nuts, and plans to replace the beast ASAP.
