Someone in this town is trying to burn the foreheads down.
Today in Speech class I was the Watchword.
The Watchword picks out a word, informs the class in general what it is, the part of speech it is, and what it means, as well as using it in an example sentence. The people speaking that day are then supposed to work that word into their speeches somehow.
I couldn't think up a word, so this morning, I polled Darkside. "Hey, give me a word", I said.
"Prosthetic", he supplied.
"Thank you for doing my homework for me!" I carolled, and told him what it was for. He laughed.
I wrote the word on the board at the beginning of class, borrowing a marker from Professor Bird, who had just had class in that room the previous hour, and was departing. AJ and the guys watched me writing it on the board, and began speculation as to what the word was going to be as it was going up. The "prost" part of the word had them really wondering. "That's what you get when you have someone else do your homework for you", I shrugged. "Blame Darkside."
I shared this with Darkside, who was simultaneously amused and disgusted. He's really a very clean-minded young man, left to his own devices, except for the Big Box O' Hentai behind his other anime collection. (His mom evidently doesn't know about it. His dad borrows from it.)
My example sentence, of course, was, "Everybody wants prosthetic foreheads for their real heads."
