Votania's mother gave us a finger-slicer!
For those who don't know, a finger-slicer is one of the most useful kitchen implements in exisitance. It is a horizontal slicer/grater, with different attachments for the variety of slicing that one wishes to accomplish. My father had a very good model, with instructions written in a Far East language I couldn't read, perhaps Chinese or Japanese. His had an adjustable slicing height and a few more varieties of grating, but I've been wanting one of those for my own kitchen for quite some time.
I will add to the deservedly nasty things I've said about Votania's mother that on occasion, she can be damn cool.
