I do best with maps too, though I am one of those people who turns the map around so it's oriented the way that I am.

Hey, that's me, too! Except either I orient myself northward (once I figure out which way that is), or I leave the map in my backpack and wait until I'm really lost to use it. Sometimes hiking around without a clue where I am is kinda fun... :)

I can generally point East on good days.

On a good day I can find north while indoors. :)
