Yes, I've indulged my sense of humor a bit here with the color-coding. Note that Prof. Schlosser's first name is Rose.

Cobol is a product of pure unadulterated evil. I took two semesters of that vile language.

Though if you need any help sweetums. I'll offer my services. As much as I loathe that system, I can still do it if need be.

And since I share *some* of his processing abilities, this may mean that I won't have a hellish time of it...
...but, sadly, I will have "Double" McGuirk (McGuirk), who is known for repeating herself on the important points (repeating herself on the important points, important points) to make sure it all gets across (across).
I would have far preferred Professor Sheldon, who memorably explained to us the difference between collision detection and collision avoidance, using himself as the example. First he called, "Is anybody out there? No? Okay, it's my turn," and walked out. He's a very polite, well-spoken fellow; this was just fine. That was Collision Avoidance.
Then, he balled his hands up into fists, made muscles, snarled, and leaped out, saying "Here I am!" loudly. That was Collision Detection. We were very startled, then laughed. I don't think anyone in that class is going to forget that Collision Detection is when Mr. Sheldon yells and makes faces.
I also have enough experience debugging it when Shrimpy messes it up to know that there are two types of files to compile, and it'll give you a weird error if you mix up something that's supposed to be .cbl with .jcl ... I was the n00b, and knew exactly jack about what the kid next to me in lab was supposed to be doing, except that his file had the extension .cbl, and he was clicky buttony as if it were .jcl ... or perhaps it was the other way around. Either way, it wasn't working, and he couldn't figure out why. I told him, but he didn't listen to me, and then his teacher told him, far less gently.
Shrimpy's an idiot.

We had her for a double boring lesson, and once we counted them. There was some betting going on as to whether she'd reach a hundred. When she did, the counter screamed a "Yes!," so she thought class was over, and let us out a quarter early.
