It's a balanced, healthy perspective, but it is not One with The Zen of Geek.
allow me to illustrate my point with a tale.
A young student geek approached the Master, and politely waited for his attention. When the Master failed to attend to the young geek, he cleared his throat noisily. At which point the Master whispered "Shhhh, I've almost got Quake 3 Arena compiled on my TI-86".
Well, I could not go to one who is not Geek for Balanced, Healthy Perspective. This is broke geek perspective. I already have laptop with wireless card, I have digital camera of the same resolution. I needed someone who was Geek to remind me of this.
Besides, if I save my money a little now, and don't get excessively broke, I can probably afford a camera phone.
There have been several fairly recent times when I've longed for one. The most notable one was the security guard at the state courthouse downtown smoking right under the no smoking sign.
Anything with an SDIO or CF slot can have it added later, anyway.
Another thing I wouldn't do without on a PDA: memory expansion. Ones without it tend to have hardly any storage space /anyway/, and in this day of mobile music and video (and cheap flash memory), you end up wanting more storage space than you've got.
802.11b/g for PDAs tends to be more expensive than bluetooth, in my experience.
The PDA market seems to be in flux right now. Palm got bought by some random far-east company, and most people seem to be focussing on 'smart phones', like the Sony-Ericsson P910 (http://www.sonyericsson.com/p910/).

And the young geek was enlightened.

I wouldn't buy a PDA that didn't have bluetooth.

If you're planning to upgrade anyway, you might want to think if you could spend the PDA money on a smartphone, and sell your current phone?
