Bastard Operators from Dell: the cussing

Very angry. Stated what I wanted in the bluntest of terms: "A new, 40 gig or better HD sent to me, me shipping the 30gig one back, and I will install it my damn self. I have a fucking screwdriver."

Madwoman got the supervisor, after a lengthy silence where I was afraid I had broken my technician. Supervisor is escalating it.

10 gigs is not much these days, but DAMN.

Unfortunately for this incident, I discovered that it was a 30gig while on the line. I was happily installing away (well, exhaustedly installing away, calling to confirm that all I needed to do was install the OS and drivers, no funky shit, then I could handle it on my own) and I thought something looked funny when partitioning. Google was my friend and told me that 28,000-odd megabytes was in the 29-gig range.

I do not really have a time when I am guaranteed to be fresh and rested enough to call them when I will actually have the time. I'm either at work or exhausted and cranky, and that is not good.

Yup. And today when I go in, I talk to my sattelite manager about a 4-day week.

I get to hash it out tomorrow with the team. Routine 50-hour weeks are not good for me.
