sophie has a Markov-chaining MegaHAL bot which she's named Botfish (name courtesy of eternal_vows) and trained on the chatfish IRC logs. This results in much hilarity. Some samples:

I've had you on my circle for a while, but I don't actually know the context for your posts about your fish. I gather they're a group of younger friends of yours who hang out together online. Is that correct?

Yes.

With more precision, we're all fans of sarahtales|sarahreesbrenna, and we met mostly via a chat for her books; she writes YA which is why the group skews young. (It also skews female; at one point I did a poll in the larger fan community, marmalade_fish, and the respondents were at least 90% female.) Since I was one of the chat regulars, generally helpful, and the oldest of the ~2009 regulars, I got adopted as the virtual den mother. We're fish because of the name of the fan community, which is based on one of Sarah's more surreal statements.
