Once upon a time, sarahtales said something very silly. Then she wrote a book. Because of the silly thing she said, her fan community was named marmalade_fish. And it came to pass that there was a very ambitious live readthrough of her book in a chatroom. The chat took over 12 hours. When it was over, some of the chatters stayed. That was 2009. Today, they are the chatfish, and I am the Fishmum.

I liked Gryffindor when I read Harry Potter for the first time. Now I am drawn to the more complex Slytherin sides :p Plus, a locket! Who wouldn't want a locket over just a cup or a sword?

Do any of the house items actually do anything? The diadem was stolen because it was hoped it would make you smarter, but do we know if it actually does?

I think they're all supposed to be powerful, but I don't recall that there was actually anything practical that could be done. Hanging out with horcruxes also seems to be rather like keeping The One Ring around.
