Clergy problems

As clergy, I have a duty to ease suffering where I find it... all the things I swore when I took the Wizards' Oath so very long ago, after duly considering the responsiblities of it. I think I took the Oath the first time I read the book.

...So what happens when you know that to ease the suffering should be within your power, yet you don't know the manner in which to do it?

Petition the gods, I suppose. Empty and right oneself like in the sermon of the cups, that the gods' blood/wine may not be wasted when it's poured down, mercy and blessing and duty to the petitioner all at once.

My secular solace came of Miles and Cordelia. I should not be surprised when my spiritual advice comes through the medium of Caz.

For those who are interested, # means "protected" in a certain design language; I set the # notation on certain friends-only filtered entries.

I always just read it as "number who can see this", considering it made sense in a mathematical sort of way. "# = you" is how I most often saw you write it, so it made sense to me.

Please tell me which book you are referring to. You've read most of the ones I recommend for people like us. I need to know which ones you recommend.

Also, a question to ask The List, if you don't already know the answer. Why did the ba in Diplomatic Immunity take the name "Dubauer"? Lois generally doesn't repeat names for nothing, though the tie-in isn't always mentioned, like the fact that Miles helped the pilot who had previously helped Cordelia escape Beta, and none of them ever knew the connection. I managed to borrow a copy (haven't had the $ to purchase yet) of DI this weekend (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ziactrice) and was told (by Ziac) that there was no mention of the commonality of the name. In fact, I had to remind her who the name of Dubauer originally belonged to.

Brat. Now I have to reread ACC (not a hardship, truly) to see what pun you are referring to.

anything she reads is worth the while of People Like Us

May I assume you meant to say, "anything she writes"?

And I will check her out. I will reserve judgement on reading the Star Trek books (I love the series, honestly, but in general haven't found the books to be as satisfying as a good fanfic...which they should be.) until I have read some of her other works.
