The lawn:
Belovedest has selected a vendor to address Lake Redacted on the lawn. It's the same vendor that did the basement moat. Today they came out to mark the intended dig line. They'll do the work while belovedest is off at a work thing.

The history as I understand it:
* There was once a line to direct the roof runoff to the street gutter, involving 3" perforated pipe to partly diffuse it into the lawn
* The original sump pump installation was ... flawed
* Belovedest and Evil Ex bought the house
* In getting the sump pump up to code, the work crew hooked it into the roof runoff line
* Evil Ex kicked to the curb
* Moat installed in basement
* More water going through line
* Line clogged
* Water comes out of perforated pipe to form Lake Redacted
* Everyone is peeved

Dentist again today for the crown. Yay. It was not the best visit ever. Getting the crown in was painful despite a touch of numbing. I stopped leaking tears somewhere through the lower left filling.

The past few weeks have involved an upper left side nerve being very upset. Part was probably the general disruption and the low R value of the temporary crown. Sleeping on that side of my face could annoy it.

Next visit will be some work on the lower right.

Between the annoyed teeth and the cold or flu that belovedest brought home from work, it's been a miserable week. I picked up a box of instant breakfast powder packets on last week's shopping trip, and they have kept me fed when everything else sounded like it would hurt or be too much for my apathetic and wheezing self.


The cats still hate each other. (This, at least, is expected.)

Blessing that the cats have not yet tried to drown each other, given ample opportunities in evidence.

Both indoor cats, despite the Escape Calico's best efforts to become indoor/outdoor. Though Yellface was the one who got out onto the back porch and didn't raise a ruckus until dinnertime.

We keep at least one closed door between them, preferably two.

As I am in possession of my own yard that likes to be a lake, I send you the best of wishes on getting yours resolved. (Mine is because my house was one of the first like three on the block, years of settling, and that one of my direct neighbors was last house built on the block and his back yard is literally a foot higher than mine.)
